    1 Week Summer Rowing Clinic

    Come join us for a week-long rowing clinic running from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This clinic focuses on improving your rowing skills, increasing fitness levels, and enhancing comfort on the water, all in a fun environment. We encourage both experienced rowers and beginners to take part. No experience required.
    • Program Fees: $385 per 1-week session and FREE to New Haven public school students
    • Open to: 6th - 12th graders
    • What’s included: 2-3 rowing/fitness sessions per day plus snacks and water
    Here's a sample of the daily activity schedule, prioritizing rowing on the water if the weather allows:
    • First 15 Minutes: drop-off/group meeting/snack
    • 60 minutes: rowing and fitness
    • 20 minutes: break/water/snack
    • 90 minutes: rowing and fitness
    • 40 minutes: warm down and wash and store equipment
    • Final 15 minutes: break/water/snack/pick-up

    Requirements: participants that want to row without a life jacket must provide a swim test certification.

    Testing site: Hillhouse High School Pool
    480 Sherman Pkwy, New Haven, CT 06511

    Procedure: 

    • Print the swim test form.
    • Arrive at the Hillhouse High School pool during the hours listed below.
      • June 23 To August 1
      • Monday Through Friday: 5 PM To 7 PM
      • Saturday: 11 AM To 3 PM
    • Be prepared with swim gear (bathing suit, goggles, etc.).
    • Find Head Lifeguard Sylas and tell them you need to complete a swim test for a Boating Program.
    • Sylas will tell you what you need to do.
    • After the test is complete, Sylas will complete the form you printed out.
    • Email a picture of the completed form to member@canaldock.org.
