Experience the thrill of dragon boating on New Haven Harbor with Connecticut Dragons in The Elm City!

Whether you're brand-new or seasoned, our team-focused and supportive environment will help you build strength, confidence, and community - on and off the water.

We provide elite-class coaching to all skill levels - even if you’ve never picked up a paddle before.

Equipment

We supply everything you need to get out on the water safely including life vests/PFDs and paddles. You bring the spirit to try!

    *Note: Since we wear PFDs, you do not need to know how to swim to join.

    Schedules

    Indoor pErg Sessions (January - April) 

    Arrive 15 minutes before practice starting time, so we can start on time.
    Bring: moisture wicking/quick dry athletic clothing, athletic shoes, and water

    • Wednesdays 6:00pm to 7:30pm
    • Saturdays 7:00am to 8:30am

    Water Sessions (April – October)

    Arrive 30 minutes before the start of practice to settle and warm-up.  We are on the water at 6pm.
    Bring: water in a non-metal water bottle, sunscreen, and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.), moisture wicking/quick dry athletic clothing, water shoes/sandals/Crocs

    • Mondays 6:00pm to 7:30pm (Tech work)

    • Wednesdays 6pm to 7:30pm (Sprint/Interval work)

    • Sundays 7am to 8:30am (Endurance work)

    Financial Assistance

    We strive to serve the entire community by providing financial assistance. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of New Haven, CT at or below 80% of Area Median Income and be receiving benefits from the State of Connecticut. Please email member@canaldock.org with a copy of the applicant’s SNAP, WIC, Husky, Medicaid, or EBT card.
